When you consider the fact that many societies around the world are continually struggling to get their basic needs met; we should not only be happy to pay our taxes, but feel privileged to be part of a system that does give back to its society.
Around the world there are government corruptions and oppression’s so strong, that make it impossible for the people to fight for human necessities. According to Transparency International ranking of 175 countries and territories in 2014, the United States ranks at 17. So even though, we may all agree that our tax dollars are not always spent wisely, our ranking indicates that we value integrity and moral obligations in a big way.
The next time you think about paying your taxes, think about the privileges we receive as taxpayers and see it as a worthy contribution for every U.S. citizen. Be proud of your hard work and the tax dollars that you provide to help support the many programs that are working effectively to solve our social problems.
Paying taxes should be thought of as a privilege, not an option. Here are just a few of the many benefits available to each of us:
Education
We provide public education for our children in order that they may earn a living of their choosing.
Environmental regulations
Keeping our world responsible when it comes to hazards and destructive practices in order to preserve our environment for future generations.
Military
People putting their lives on the line to protect our rights and the rights of others throughout the world.
Infrastructure Maintenance and Construction
Such as our roads, bridges, airports, etc. provide us all with an efficient means of transportation.
Police and Fire Department
These departments help keep our society both lawful and safe in every town throughout our country.
Local and national Parks
The maintenance of these spectacular natural wonders and the beautification of our local communities allow us to enjoy nature in all its splendor.
Elderly and disabled
Our social security system provides income to millions and hopefully generations past and present will benefit from this honorable and well deserved practice.
These are just a few of the tremendously valuable organizations that our tax dollars afford the people of our country. Our system isn’t perfect and will constantly need revisions and monitoring by us, the people. However, we should be proud of the exceptional accomplishments that we provide with our tax dollars. Remember, it takes a nation of people who respect and honor the rights of each other; to work together and make a difference in our world.
