P is for Perseverance When Going Through A Divorce

perseverance when going through a divorce

Going through a divorce presents difficulties, obstacles, and complications. You will need a best friend named Persistence. This friend will help you forge ahead on a steady and determined course of action leading you to your goal.

Many of us will talk ourselves out of our original plan when things are not going exactly as we intended. “I don’t have enough money to save for retirement, savings, vacations, etc.” “My divorce will never be finalized”. “I am stuck in an endless situation and I’ll never be able to take control of my own life.” Remember, keeping yourself steadfast and on track as you approach your future is imperative.

A really good way to do this is to focus on your goal while visualizing good things. When you visualize a positive outcome in your mind, know exactly what it is that you want and then imagine yourself getting there, it will be almost impossible to give up.

To help you stay motivated, start off by setting small, achievable goals. Don’t give up on your savings, retirement accounts or charitable giving.  A small and steady contribution will allow your accounts to better serve you in the future. This holds true when trudging through all the red tape involved in divorce. Small steps are better than standing still.

Keep focused and on the right track and persevere. If you persist…you will succeed.
